On Monday 4th July, an assessor from The Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) visited school. This is a national award that provides a coherent framework through which schools, early years settings and other educational organisations can deliver effective parental engagement from early years to post-16. We achieved this award three years ago – you may have noticed the plaque on the wall in the foyer – and needed to be re-assessed. We are pleased to report that our application was successful and we are an ‘LPPA’ school for another three years.
Peters Hill was commended for the work we do consulting with parents, including our new Parent Council, opportunities for parents to engage with their children’s learning, (the parent workshops and LAT) and excellent communication between home and school. The assessor was impressed by our induction and transition procedures, the wide range of quality information that is provided for parents and by the fact that LPPA is embedded in the School Development Plan.
Thanks to the parents who gave up their time to meet the assessor and to the pupils, who, as always, spoke with enthusiasm about their school.
If you have any comments or suggestions on school improvement matters, please use the Suggestions Box, in the foyer; you can either address your envelope to ‘Mrs Clarke’ or to ‘The Parent Council’.
