Peters Hill Citizenship Award  

At Peters Hill our aim is to encourage children to become responsible, informed and active members of their class, school and wider community. Our vision is for all children at Peters Hill is to enjoy their experiences with us and become life-long learners. Our values underpin all that we aim to do in our school to ensure that everyone has the support and opportunities to thrive as a citizen throughout their life.  

The Purpose of the Citizenship Award  

•To encourage children to make positive choices which will benefit their class, school and community 

•To recognise and acknowledge the active role pupils play in the life of the school and the wider community 

•To encourage children to become responsible, informed and active members of their class, school and wider community 

•To encourage children to learn about aspects of citizenship education, including topical issues, rule and law-making, democracy, human rights, diversity. 

 

The children will work through the different challenges from the Bronze Kite (within the class setting) through to Silver kite (within the key stage) to eventually the Gold Kite (challenges within the wider community). Children will work through these challenges in KS2 to achieve each award.
