Welcome from the Principal

You Said, We Did

Parent feedback is essential in helping our school continue to move forward and give the best opportunities to all of our children. At Peters Hill, we want all parents to feel that they have a valued voice in the school and that they can play a key role in how we continue to grow.

In November 2024, we asked parents during parents evening for feedback around the things that you feel we do well and those that could be developed further. This is through gathering WWW (What Works Well) and EBI (Even Better If) feedback. Our aim is to use the information gathered to form part of school improvement priorities.

Following the return of information, the senior leadership team and governing body gather possible actions. This page of the website is designed to summarise this process as a 'You said, We did' page to highlight how parent feedback is helping to shape the direction of the school, as well as celebrate what you think we do well. The following information outlines the steps we have taken as a result of parental feedback for the 24-25 academic year.

You said we could do these things better;

Our response;

More after school sports clubs

Each year we review the ASC offer that we make and aim to ensure a broad coverage with the spaces we have available. This is easier in the summer when we can utilise outside spaces. This academic year we have offered 17 sports clubs; we will aim to increase this next academic year.

More non-traditional sports clubs (urban sports)

We are looking into providers that can offer these clubs but these would come at a charge to families so we will only work with providers that we feel offer good value for money. Watch this space!

Better parking

Unfortunately, we have no more space to create a visitor car park. However, staff are encouraged and reminded regularly to use the car park so that the roads around Peters Hill are clear of parked cars. The recent school streets scheme has made the immediate roads around Peters Hill School a much safer environment for pedestrians at peak times.

More blogs

Each class has a blog as well as some other whole school blogs, these can be found on the website. School has an Instagram account where whole school events are celebrated too.

More fun things like disco’s after school

This is something that the parent council have been considering

More trips and visits a term

Every class has at least one visit a year. We try to ease any financial burden on families as trips come at a cost. We will always evaluate trips and ensure value for money is considered.

Christmas and Summer Fair

This is something that the parent council have been considering organising.
