Parent Council

 

Who are the Parent Council? 

The parent council are a group of volunteers who are parents or carers of children currently at Peters Hill Primary School. The aim of the group is to put forward the views of parents and carers to the school and provide feedback which leads to continual development and improvement. The parent council works in partnership with the school to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. This promotes partnerships between the school; parents/carers and pupils.   

 

Aims: 

  • To develop and engage in discussions and activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils.
  • To enhance communication between parents/carers and the school – providing a platform for discussion and feedback. 

 

Members: 

Claire B (Chair) 
Claire is a full time teacher and head of department and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion champion at a college, with one small person at Peters Hill. Interests: culture, education, film, politics, literature, music and travel. Reasons for joining the Parent Council: Passionate about education and wanting to help and support the school. 

 

Rachael P (Secretary)
Rachael is currently a stay at home mom of 2, who are both currently at Peters Hill Primary School (with one leaving this year to move to secondary school). Interests - I enjoy martial arts and films. Reasons for joining the parent council - I’ve always tried to keep fully up to date with what is going on at the school through blogs, newsletters etc and would love to be able to get more involved to help the school keep up the good work in shaping our children’s futures.  

 

Claire W
Claire is a full time working mom of two little people at Peters Hill School. Interests - Music & films, the little things, food and wine. Reasons for joining the Parent Council - Wished to make a contribution to the school and feed into making our children’s experience as good as it can be. 

 

Lisa
Lisa is a working mom with one little person at Peters Hill. Interests - Live music, meals out with friends and baking. Reasons for joining the Parent Council - To be a voice for parents and pass on their thoughts and ideas for making our childrens primary school journey special. 

 

Jo W 
Jo works part time and has two children at Peters Hill School. Interests-Days out with my family and spending time with friends. Reasons for joining parent council- I wish to contribute to making our children’s time at school the best it can be. 

 

Leann J 
Leann works as senior reprographics technician at a local college and is a mom of 3. She has a 15 year old going into year eleven, an 11 year old just leaving Peters Hill going into year seven and a 3 year old starting Peters Hill in September. Interests- baking, holidays, making memories with family and friends.  Reasons for joining parents council -  I am passionate about making sure our children have the best foundation possible to help them grow into the best version of themselves. I truly believe, that the early years of our children’s education are the most important. 

 

Asima K 
Asima is a working mom, who is a talented education and youth development professional, with one small person at Peters Hill Primary School. Interests- Young people engagement, cultural awareness and creating opportunities for individuals and groups, who are disadvantaged due to cultural, racial and gender barriers. Reasons for joining Parent Council- To become more involved, to contribute to support the school in making sure the journey for Peters Hill pupils are of a lasting impact and enabling them to have positive outcomes throughout their school life. 

 

Andrew C

Andrew is a full-time working Dad of one child who is in year 3 at Peters Hill. Interests – Health & Fitness, Sport, and Theatre. Reasons for joining the Parent Council: to contribute to the continual improvement of the school by providing honest feedback and recommendations. I have had a very positive experience so far in my child’s time at Peters Hill and see this as an opportunity to give something back.
